An Introduction from our Director....
“My name is Lorna Stenhouse (previously Jack) and I am the Director of Lecropt and Old Doune Road Nurseries and Bridge of Allan Out of School Care. I started my career in childcare in 2003 and I now hold my Professional Development Award in Childcare and Education level 8 and level 9. I am a mother of two children, Megan and Rory. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, walking our dogs, watching movies and keeping fit. After spending some years using the services of private nurseries I realised there was a demand for more choice for this type of service in our area and being a working mum myself I felt I had some knowledge as to what working parents wanted for their children. Around the same time Barnardo’s was selling a beautiful old school in Bridge of Allan. After seeking help from family and professionals I was successful in acquiring this building and my quest to create my first nursery began. In August, 2003 Lecropt Nursery was opened. Lecropt is registered to care for 47 children in total. In August, 2006 I opened Bridge of Allan Out of School Care. This has links to Lecropt Nursery as many of the children go on to Bridge of Allan Primary and use the after school facilities. We currently lease the dining hall in the school and provide the service there. We are registered to care for 20 children there. In November, 2006 I acquired Old Doune Road Nursery in Dunblane. Old Doune Road is registered to care for 41 children in total. Over the years all three services have gained an excellent reputation as caring and conscientious providers of quality childcare. All three of our settings provide a “home from home” with the needs of the children and their parents being addressed with care, sensitivity, flexibility and professionalism. Training and performance are priorities for our settings as I believe happy, motivated and well-trained staff will give the parents reassurance their children are being cared for by competent and caring staff.” |
