settling into nursery
Lecropt Nursery & Bridge of Allan Out of School Care wants all children to settle into nursery and out of school care life as smoothly as possible. We offer a month of settling in visits to allow you and your child to adjust emotionally and physically, whilst you build your relationship and trust with your child's key worker and other team members in your child's playroom. Parents are welcome to spend some time with their child in the nursery initially and then to withdraw gradually. Parents are the best judges as to how their child will settle best and this will be discussed with a view to putting a settling in period in place that suits the individual needs of each child.
Prior to your initial settle, we will issue an personal care plan for you to fill out at send back to us to allow our team to gain some insight into your child's care needs before they begin settling in. This will include aspects such as routine, preferences and medical requirements.
We offer a month's settling period, where we gradually build up the time your child will spend with us each time, covering parts of the days such as snack, lunch and sleep for your child to become familiar with the environment. We always encourage parents to stay for the first hour settling in visit to give you the opportunity to get to know your child's key worker to allow you the time to build up trust in the team who will be caring for your child.
Parents are welcome to call in or stay any time . If your child tends to be upset when you leave them please feel free to discuss this with our staff and how best you feel the situation can be helped. We will provide you with updates to let you know how your child has settled when you begin leaving them for the first time.
