The Castle Room have been on a Dino hunt looking for Tina the T-Rex this morning.
Over the past couple of months Tina has been visiting Lecropt Nursery and hiding dinosaur eggs and leaving little messages for the children. Using a map the children had created, they used their navigating skills to find a place in the Mine Woods were Tina might be hiding. They discovered a grand place with trees, old camp fires and cliffs. The children showed their adventurous sides through climbing and used great dialogue to support one another with this. Tina has left a special note with a book for the children to read together in their adventure. Many of the children were very excited when they spotted her tail high above the cliff side and some even heard her roar!

We had a fantastic time at the Glasgow Science Centre today for our children leaving for school. Lots of experiments to explore and tactile experiences to learn all about force, speed, the body, space, sound, light, smells and much more. We’re sure they’ll tell you all about it tonight if they manage to stay awake!!
We’ll post some videos to follow! A big thank you to our team for all their hard work throughout the past few years with this little gang. This group have grown in confidence and it is clear to see how happy and keen they are to learn. It’s bitter sweet for us, but we know your children will go on to blossom even more in their next stage of learning in school. The children in our 3-5 room participated in the Enjoy-a-Ball Sports Day up at the big field next to the nursery today. The group was split into teams to carry out some tasks to share all the efforts they had put in over the last term. With adult support and encouragement they balanced, jumped, avoided obstacles and worked collaboratively with their peers in front of a group of parents.
Some of our team and parents even took part in some races! We had a lovely day on Saturday celebrating the achievements and efforts of our children heading off into their next phase in their learning journey into primary school.
A big thank you to our team for all that they do and and a big thank you to all of our families for choosing us to be a part of your children's lives. Thank you to Lecropt Kirk for giving us the opportunity to use your new hall for the morning. Last week was full of adventures! We have been practising our climbing skills and risk assessing our environments and objects when out and about. Our 2-5s ventured to the local play park and our very kind neighbours hid some treasures around the secret garden which our 2-3s enjoyed finding. They then went on a treasure hunt around the Darn Walk and visited Robert Louis Stevenson's pirate cave. Our 3-5s paid a visit to the Mine Woods and had a fantastic time exploring in the leaves, climbing trees and hiding in dens. Meanwhile our 0-2s when for a stroll along the Carse to look at the local wildlife and farm animals.
What a fantastic result for Christmas Eve. You have all raised an amazing amount for Start Up Stirling! Well done everyone! 👍🏻👏🏻
We performed some Christmas songs for our families just before we finished up for le holidays. Lots of practise made for great singing! We even visited our local care home to sings some songs with them and bring some Christmas cheer at this time of year.
